Kim Yoon Seok and Kim Seon Ho Form a Strange Alliance in New Drama ‘God Bless the Assemblyman’

Actors Kim Yoon Suk and Kim Seon Ho are set to form a mysterious alliance in a new drama.

Production company Movie Company Zip announced on May 14 that Kim Yoon Seok and Kim Seon Ho have officially confirmed their appearances in the upcoming drama 'God Bless the Assemblyman (working English Title),' written by Kwon Jong Kwan and directed by Park Shin Woo.

Based on the web novel of the same name, 'God Bless the Assemblyman' tells the story of a National Assembly member who becomes a ghost and travels back in time, joining forces with a level 9 civil servant as they help one another.

Kim Yoon Suk will play Goo Young Jin, a six-term congressman who once stood at the top of the political world as a master strategist. However, his life comes to an end after becoming entangled in a corruption scandal.

After suffering a tragic death tied to political power, Goo Young Jin returns to the past and joins hands with Cha Jae Rim, played by Kim Seon Ho, in an attempt to reset his life.

Kim Yoon Suk shared, “I’m excited to work alongside such wonderful actors and staff members. I will give it my all to leave viewers with a lasting impression.”

Kim Seon Ho will take on the role of Cha Jae Rim, a level 9 civil servant who knows little about politics. After being drawn in by the “ghost politician” Goo Young Jin, he unexpectedly steps into the political arena.

Before meeting Goo Young Jin, Cha Jae Rim’s goal was simply to live an ordinary life. However, he eventually becomes Goo Young Jin’s avatar and enters the fierce world of politics.

Kim Seon Ho commented, “It’s an honor to work with respected actors on such a great project. I’ll prepare diligently and greet viewers with my best performance. Please look forward to it.”

The drama will be directed by Park Shin Woo, who won a Baeksang Arts Award for Unknown Seoul. Writer Kwon Jong Kwan, known for The Price of Confession, will pen the script.

A representative stated, “Two men, each carrying their own goals, race toward the center of the political world. Their ‘same dream, different motives’ journey to reset their lives will deliver catharsis to viewers.”

Meanwhile, 'God Bless the Assemblyman' is scheduled to air on tvN.
