Kim Sung Kyu returns to the Philippine stage after a decade for his 'LV4: Leap to Vector' concert, teases INFINITE activities
by Sofia-Sayson · allkpopOn June 28, Kim Sung Kyu successfully held the last stop of his 'LV4: Leap to Vector' Asian solo tour in the Philippines. The tour, which spanned cities including Seoul, Macau, Hong Kong, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh, and Kaohsiung, marked Sung Kyu's first performance on a Philippine stage in over a decade.
"It's been 11 years. Thank you so much for waiting. It's very nice to see you again," said Sung Kyu. Prior to launching his tour, the artist released his sixth solo mini-album, 'OFF THE MAP,' which features the tracks "When I think about you," "Over It," "Dreaming," "Portrait," and "Answer"—all of which Sung Kyu performed live in front of his fans for the first time.
Sung Kyu added that the album's release, as well as the launch of his tour, showcases his determination to take another step forward in his growth.
Other songs on his setlist included "Sorry," "Because," "60sec," "Climax," "Sentimental," "Fog," "You," "City of Angel," and "Savior"—a collection of songs spanning tracks released this year, 10 years ago, and some that have yet to be released.
After a fan mentioned they would be graduating from college soon—having been a fan of his since elementary school—giggles and reflections rippled through the crowd. Sung Kyu also shared, "Looking back, I kind of have this thought that 'time really flies.'"
"One of my biggest goals and thoughts is to successfully finish the 'LV4' tour," he said. He added that after concluding this tour, he plans to prepare for the 'INFINITE Assembly,' teasing that his group's signature fan meeting event would take place around August, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
He added, "Together with the members, we are planning to release new songs," noting that they have been putting in full effort after a very long time. He also revealed he has been working on new solo music. "Whenever I have time available, I'm doing my best to give you more songs. Please look forward to them around next year."
Throughout the three-hour set, Sung Kyu serenaded his fans with his soulful live vocals while playing his guitar. "I was really happy to meet you. Thank you for your warm welcome."
