Taeyang is releasing his first full-length solo album in nine years.

Taeyang will release his fourth full album, 'QUINTESSENCE,' on May 18. On May 7, he unveiled teaser photos for the upcoming release through social media.

The singer completed a trendy and stylish mood with monochrome styling and fashion-forward looks. His striking hair color and intense atmosphere immediately drew attention.

“Quintessence” refers to “essence” or “the core nature of something.” Taeyang personally came up with the album title. Recently, he explained on social media, “It’s a word that has stayed in my heart for a long time and one that is most needed in this era.”

The album captures a journey toward discovering that “essence.” Taeyang shared, “I hope you also discover it within yourself someday,” adding, “It’s a story about the things that matter most but are not easily seen.

This marks his first full solo album in approximately nine years. The release date, May 18, also coincides with his birthday, hinting at a special musical gift for VIP, the fandom of Big Bang.

He will also continue group activities with Big Bang. Taeyang is preparing for the group’s 20th anniversary world tour scheduled for August. Last month, he also performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States.
