The Success of #Jimin's Solo Career: Hollywood Reporter hails him as a 'Platinum Power Player' & one of the 'Biggest Artists of 2024'

Jimin's sophomore album 'MUSE,' and particularly his lead single 'WHO' from this album, is recording unprecedented success levels on different major music charts globally, thus cementing his name in history as the top-most performer for any Korean soloist on global music charts, and more especially on the biggest music markets in the world such as the USA, the UK, Japan, Canada, South Korea and more. Not only has 'WHO' consistently ranked on the respective main singles charts for these top music markets each week, but the song has also placed in the highest rank ever achieved by any Korean soloist from the second week through to the 11th week. Such top music charts include the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global 200, and Global Excl: US, the UK Official Singles chart, Japan's Oricon chart, and more. 

Such impeccable performance in the toughest music markets is bound to garner attention from any artist. It is even more impressive in Jimin's case since he is a foreign artist in all these top markets, and he only made his solo debut just over a year ago! Therefore, his immense success can only be an indication of how well-received his work has been by the general public, which attests to his unrivaled talent and skill as well as shows his unlimited potential for the future. It is for this reason that American media outlets have been showering him with praises and ranking him among the best-performing music artists this 2024, right alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry.

On Oct. 8, The Hollywood Reporter, an American digital and print magazine that reports on film, television, and entertainment industries in Hollywood, published an article detailing a list of artists that it considered to be the Top 25 biggest artists of 2024. Jimin came in at #11 on this list, the only K-pop act to rank within the top 15, and the only Korean/K-pop solo artist to make it to the list! Other names on the list included renowned artists like Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Ariana Grande, to mention a few,

“Since the start of BTS' Chapter 2 and the full-fledged launch of his solo career, Jimin's musical power and achievements demonstrated through the release of two solo albums, "FACE" and "MUSE" have continued to receive attention from major media outlets.”

Previously, on Sept 6, the same media outlet published a list titled 'Music's Platinum Power Players 2024', consisting of what it termed as 'the top starts who are setting culture afire'. This list honors music acts who are ranking atop the chart and who can be said to have 'owned the year'. Yet again, Jimin's name was mentioned alongside other top music acts like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter among others.

In other news, Jimin was chosen by Billboard Korea as a key figure who shaped K-pop's dance legacy! In an Instagram post, media outlet stated:

"If we delve into the deep history of K-pop, we find that each era had it's own iconic solo dancers or group main dancers who dominated the scene."

"As time passed, K-pop artists have emerged as masters of performance, but one might ask: when and from whom did this exceptional talent first originate? Let’s take a look at the key figures from each generation who shaped K-pop’s legacy."

Jimin has always captivated the audience with his smooth, unique and skillful dance moves over the years, even earning himself titles such as the dance king, dance god ad king of K-pop for his ability to stand out and absolutely entice anyone watching him on stage, as reported previously numerous times.

Jimin's solo career is shining just as brightly as everyone expected, having already seen his journey with his group, and fans are looking forward to seeing his star shine even brighter with future releases.
