Park Ji Hoon has captivated viewers with his comedic performance.

Park Ji Hoon is currently starring in 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,' which premiered on May 11. He plays Kang Sung Jae, a rookie soldier who grows into a legendary military cook.

The actor showcased a completely different charm from his previous film, 'The King's Warden.' Leaving behind his melancholic gaze, he transformed into a clumsy recruit, bringing laughter through the character’s constant crises and attempts to overcome them.

Thanks to his standout performance, interest in the series has been rising rapidly. 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier' ranked No. 1 in overall paid subscription contribution on TVING during May 11–12.

The drama’s ratings are also climbing steadily. According to Nielsen Korea, the tvN broadcast recorded nationwide average ratings of 5.8% for episode 1 and 6.2% for episode 2. The figures are more than triple the ratings of 'Yumi's Cells.'

In the latest episode, Kang Sung Jae (played by Park Ji Hoon) faced yet another crisis. His life as a military cook hit a roadblock due to the unpredictable decisions of company commander Hwang Seok Ho, played by Lee Sang Yi, who prioritizes his own comfort above all else.

Hwang Seok Ho suggested a different military position for Kang Sung Jae, feeling uneasy about the unpredictable recruit.

However, Kang Sung Jae reflected on his father, who once ran a restaurant, and reconsidered his future as a cook soldier. Together with Sergeant Yoon Dong Hyun, played by Lee Hong Nae, he decided to persuade Hwang Seok Ho through food.

The pair completed a pork cutlet dish that looked delicious enough to impress at first glance. Unfortunately, they soon discovered it was a menu item Hwang Seok Ho disliked, leaving them disappointed as they walked away defeated.

Meanwhile, 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM KST on TVING and tvN.
