BOYNEXTDOOR proves growth with self-produced first full album ‘HOME’
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopBOYNEXTDOOR is set to showcase its artistic growth through its first full-length album 'HOME', with all members participating in the songwriting and production process across the album’s entire tracklist.
On May 20 at 10 p.m. KST, BOYNEXTDOOR revealed the official tracklist for 'HOME' through the album’s dedicated website. The interactive design featured notes attached to a digital door, allowing fans to click and uncover detailed information about each song. The wrinkled paper texture and creative layout immediately caught attention.
The album consists of nine tracks including the title song "VIRAL", along with “06070,” “Knock Knock Knock,” “ADIOS!,” “Upside Down,” “DIVE,” “Please Remember,” “I Wonder,” and “I Wonder, Always.”
All six members contributed to the songwriting process, highlighting the group’s strengthened musical capabilities. In particular, members Myung Jaehyun and Woonhak participated in every track on the album.
Some songs also feature credits under the team name itself rather than individual members, adding symbolic meaning to the project.
Scheduled for release on June 8 at 6 PM KST, 'HOME' reflects on BOYNEXTDOOR’s journey as the “boys next door,” honestly capturing the emotions and memories they have experienced so far.
The album explores relatable themes including friendship, love, heartbreak, youth, and personal growth while emphasizing the importance of the people surrounding the group, including fans.
The title track “VIRAL” expresses the members’ wish for their music to spread to even more listeners. Zico, head producer of KOZ Entertainment, participated in both writing and composing the track, while longtime collaborators Pop Time and kako handled production.
The album’s B-side tracks further display the group’s versatility. Pre-release track “Knock Knock Knock,” unveiled on May 11, tells the story of six unexpected visitors suddenly appearing everywhere.
Meanwhile, “ADIOS!” portrays the process of letting go of lingering regrets after a difficult day and moving forward.
Songs such as “06070,” “Please Remember,” and fan-dedicated tracks “I Wonder” and “I Wonder, Always (CD Only)” further emphasize the emotional connection between BOYNEXTDOOR and its fandom, ONEDOOR.
Ahead of the album release, BOYNEXTDOOR plans to sequentially unveil four concept versions — “NAVIGATOR,” “WEAVER,” “BUNKER,” and “SWEET HOME” — beginning May 24.
