Ravi Breaks Silence: First Social Media Appearance Since Military Service Scandal
by K-Soul · allkpopRavi, who was previously embroiled in a high-profile scandal for attempting to evade his military duties via a "fake epilepsy" scheme, has shared his first update since being officially discharged.
On May 1, the artist posted two photos to his social media without a caption. The images show Ravi in a casual black t-shirt and glasses, focused on his laptop and looking directly at the camera. This marks his first social media activity in over a month, following his formal apology and discharge announcement in March.
Ravi’s path back to the public eye has been rocky. On March 27, he shared a lengthy letter addressing his legal battles and the conclusion of his service. He shared, "My service as a public service worker was interrupted in 2022 due to a trial for violating the Military Service Act," he explained. "Following the Military Manpower Administration’s instructions, I completed my remaining time and was officially discharged on December 13, 2025."
He went on to express deep regret for his actions, acknowledging that his "cowardly choice" and the harm it caused others. He also vowed to live as a "better person" moving forward, offering a sincere apology to those hurt by the scandal.
A Recap of the Controversy
Ravi was previously sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, after being found guilty of feigning epilepsy symptoms to receive a military exemption. Following the court's ruling and a physical re-examination, he was deemed fit for service and completed his remaining duty as a public service worker.
