'Brave New World' drops Lim Ji Yeon character poster ahead of May 8 premiere

Lim Ji Yeon is set to make her return with a fiercely bold new character.

On April 8, SBS unveiled a teaser poster for its upcoming Friday-Saturday drama 'Brave New World' (written by Kang Hyun Joo, directed by Han Tae Seop). The poster features Lim Ji Yeon’s transformation into Shin Seo Ri, a notorious villain from the Joseon era.

'Brave New World' is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Shin Seo Ri, an unknown actress possessed by the soul of a Joseon-era villain, and Cha Se Gye, a ruthless chaebol heir (played by Heo Nam Jun). Their relationship unfolds like a high-stakes battle of love.

Shin Seo Ri is a character who is suddenly transported from the Joseon dynasty to 21st-century South Korea overnight. In the poster, Lim Ji Yeon stands among towering skyscrapers and speeding cars, her expression a mix of shock and awe.

The design, reminiscent of a traditional Korean portrait painting, also draws attention by blending past and present visuals. It raises curiosity about how Shin Seo Ri, armed with her fierce survival instincts, will navigate life in the modern world.

The production team teased, “Please look forward to Lim Ji Yeon’s comedic transformation. From a villain who once shook Joseon without any backing to a character equipped with a charming fierceness to survive in the 21st century, she delivers a perfect performance.”

'Brave New World' is set to premiere on May 8 at 9:50 PM KST.
