G-Dragon and Jennie, who were previously at the center of dating rumors, both took home top honors at the '2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA),' drawing significant attention as they stood side by side as Daesang winners.

The '2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA)' were held on December 20 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, Seoul.

On this day, Jennie received one of the four grand prizes, winning Record of the Year. The award recognized the success of her first full-length album 'Ruby,' which earned widespread love both domestically and internationally.

Taking the stage, Jennie shared her thoughts, saying, “Thank you so much for giving me such a big award. This year has been incredibly meaningful to me. I’m happy to wrap up the year on such a positive note. I’ll continue striving to be Jennie who makes great music. It feels lonely standing here alone. I miss the members, and BLINK, I always love you.”

Another Daesang, Album of the Year, was awarded to G-Dragon. He swept a total of three grand prizes on the night, achieving an impressive seven-award win overall.

G-Dragon remarked, “Every year feels special and precious, but this year will remain particularly meaningful to me personally. I tried many things for the first time, and it took a long time to complete this album. I named it ‘Übermensch.’ Part of me wanted it to sound cool, but it means someone who transcends something. For me, it’s like a personal mantra. I made this album with the hope of becoming that kind of person.”

He continued, “I’m grateful to everyone who worked with me. Thank you to all sources of inspiration and to VIP fans. I miss the Big Bang members. Thank you to my family, friends, and colleagues.”

Returning to the stage to accept Artist of the Year, G-Dragon said, “This is my second Daesang tonight. When I first started, it feels like a very long time ago. There was a time when the words ‘genre’ and ‘artist’ felt distant. There are idols and bands, but I believe everyone is an artist. Everyone’s story is different, and there’s no single right answer. I hope everyone lives confidently as the main character of their own story.”

For the final grand prize, Best Song of the Year, G-Dragon once again stepped on stage and shared, “I feel incredibly happy right now. The path to receiving awards is long and difficult, but because the meaning is so great, it doesn’t feel hard at all. I’m truly grateful.” He appeared visibly emotional as he concluded his speech.
