BTS’s Jungkook graces ELLE cover as he shares thoughts on music and spring ahead

BTS’s Jungkook has graced the cover of ELLE’s January 2026 issue.

The pictorial captures Jungkook stepping in front of the camera for the first time since being named a global ambassador for a beauty brand, showcasing movements that blend intensity and elegance. While his many tattoos drew attention, fans also noted the absence of the dog tattoo that recently became the starting point of dating rumors involving aespa’s Winter.

Jungkook recently set a new milestone on global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, becoming the first Korean solo artist to surpass 10 billion cumulative streams. When asked about the meaning of “music,” he shared, “I still believe that good music is music with a good message and good lyrics. Music that isn’t bound by seasons or genres, and songs that can give strength to anyone.” He added, “Of course, a song that simply sounds good also matters.”

As a 28-year-old young man and a global artist, Jungkook reflected on where, and in what time, he feels he is living now. “Since I’m someone who presents music, maybe I’m living in the time of the people who watch and listen to my music,” he said. “I want to stay in that time.”

With spring approaching and full-group BTS activities on the horizon, Jungkook expressed his hopes, saying, “This spring may become more important than any other. I sincerely hope we can pass through it safely and well.”

Jungkook’s pictorial and interview can be found in the January issue of ELLE and on the ELLE website. Fashion films and video content will also be released through ELLE’s official SNS and YouTube channels. Jungkook’s nine cover versions are available for purchase at online and offline bookstores nationwide.

Meanwhile, Jungkook became embroiled in dating rumors on the 4th after a tattoo similar in design and placement to one worn by aespa’s Winter was spotted. The tattoo, featuring three connected dog faces, is located near his elbow. Netizens also pointed to the two wearing similar-colored nail polish on the same ring finger just one day apart, as well as Jungkook attending aespa’s concert during a military leave. Speculation grew further as Jungkook had not previously been seen attending concerts by girl groups under HYBE-affiliated labels.

However, neither Jungkook’s agency BigHit Music nor Winter’s agency SM Entertainment has released an official statement. The silence, contrasting with past instances where unfounded rumors were promptly denied, has only added to confusion within the fandom.
