Lee Young Ji apologizes for election color misunderstanding
by Helena-son · allkpopSinger Lee Young Ji recently posted a selfie on Instagram showing off her new red hair and red clothes. She even played a song called "REDRED" in the background to ask fans if they liked her new look. However, because the June 3 local elections are very close, people worried that the color red meant she supported a specific political party.
After fans messaged her about the issue, she quickly deleted the photo. On May 31, she posted a new picture showing that she had dyed her hair black to fix the situation. She apologized for being careless and explained that she just wanted to share her daily life with fans, without thinking about the timing. She promised not to make excuses and to be much more careful in the future.
Here's her statement uploaded on her social media account:
"You must have been very surprised by my poorly timed story upload yesterday..
Many of you let me know through DMs.
I felt so sorry and wanted to fix it somehow, so my explanation is late because I rushed to dye my hair. I am sorry.
Even though I clearly knew it is an important time right now, my desire to communicate with you came first, so I was just too busy randomly posting my recent photos.
I will not hide behind the cowardly excuse of not knowing. I will reflect on this and learn from it.
I apologize for my careless actions.
Have a good day."
