by · allkpop

Lee Jae Wook enlisted in a training camp on the morning of May 18, where he will undergo basic military training before continuing his service as an active-duty soldier in the Army.

His agency stated that, in accordance with the actor’s wishes for a quiet enlistment, no official ceremony or on-site event was held.

On the 17th, a day before his enlistment, Lee Jae Wook briefly greeted fans through his social media account, sharing photos of his short haircut.

He expressed his feelings calmly with a short message, saying, “I will return in good health.” In one of the released photos, he is seen making a peace sign with his noticeably shorter hair, wearing a black hoodie, giving off a relaxed and casual vibe.

Fans responded to the post with supportive messages such as “Stay healthy and come back safely” and “We will wait for you,” while also expressing their sadness.

Although his temporary absence is felt strongly due to his steady career since his debut, previously completed projects are set to be released, allowing audiences to continue seeing him on screen for the time being.

First, ENA’s upcoming Monday–Tuesday drama 'Doctor on the Edge' is scheduled to air next month. In addition, the Netflix series 'Dead-End Job' is also slated for release in the second half of the year, meaning his work will continue to reach viewers even during his military service.

Born in 1998, Lee Jae Wook made his debut through the 2018 drama 'Memories of the Alhambra.' He later gained popularity through projects such as 'Search: WWW,' 'Extraordinary You,' and 'Alchemy of Souls.'

Beloved for his solid acting skills and distinctive screen presence, he has established himself as a rising leading actor across multiple works. As he left with a composed farewell before enlistment, his upcoming releases are expected to help ease the disappointment of his military hiatus.
