ILLIT draws massive crowd with Children’s Day comeback event
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopILLIT officially kicked off its comeback promotions with a large-scale outdoor performance held on Children’s Day.
On May 5 KST, the group hosted the 'ILLIT Seoul Children’s Grand Park Festival' at Children’s Grand Park in Gwangjin District to celebrate the release of its fourth mini album 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI.'
Throughout the venue, ILLIT set up interactive booths themed around the album’s title track “It’s Me.” According to Belift Lab, approximately 24,000 visitors gathered at the event.
The “It’s Me Stage” provided children with an opportunity to become the stars of the stage themselves. During the first session, children showcased their talents by singing ILLIT’s songs, while the second session featured the group’s performance director teaching the choreography highlights of the new track.
ILLIT later took the stage for the event’s main outdoor concert held at the park’s “Forest Stage.” Both pre-reserved tickets and on-site admission passes were fully distributed, reflecting the strong interest surrounding the performance.
The group performed tracks including “It’s Me,” “Do the Dance,” “Magnetic,” “NOT CUTE ANYMORE,” and “oops!,” interacting closely with the audience throughout the set.
Toward the end of the show, the members shared their gratitude, saying, “We were surprised that so many people came today. Your energy and bright smiles gave us even more strength,” adding, “We hope the time we spent together today became a happy gift for everyone.”
