Netizens react to TVXQ and JX holding concerts in Japan on the same day

In a never-before-seen turn of events, TVXQ and JX (Jaejoong + Xia) will be holding concerts in Japan on overlapping days in December.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of their Japanese debut, TVXQ will embark on their '20th Anniversary Live Tour ~ZONE~' beginning in November. The tour is expected to stop at the Hiroshima Green Arena from December 14-15.

Coincidentally, JX will also hold their 2024 joint concert 'IDENTITY' at the Saitama Belluna Dome from December 14-15.

Notably, it's believed that JX will perform a similar setlist during their Japanese concerts as the setlist performed at 'IDENTITY' in Seoul, which featured 18 TVXQ songs, 3 solo songs each, and 1 JYJ song.

Interestingly enough, earlier this week, Junsu of JX became wrapped up in a scandal involving an AfreecaTV BJ. It was reported that a female BJ, 'A', had blackmailed Junsu 101 times since September of 2020 until October of this year, extorting 840 million KRW from the singer and using the money for drug-related purchases.

Although Kim Junsu's side emphasized the singer's status as a "victim" in the ongoing investigation, the singer's reputation has nevertheless taken a significant blow as a result of the buzz surrounding the news.

On the other hand, TVXQ member Yunho is also known as a "controversial" member for his violation of social distancing regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. The singer, who was caught visiting an adult entertainment establishment which had been operating during illegal hours at the time, was fined by the court for his violation, and the issue led to him taking a short hiatus from promotions until the latter half of 2021.

Meanwhile, in response to the two shows by TVXQ and JX being held in the same weekend in Japan, K-netizens commented,

"Did someone do this on purpose..?"
"They're performing 18 songs by TVXQ? When the real TVXQ is performing somewhere else on the same day?"
"That 18-song setlist looks like it should be performed by TVXQ, not by JX."
"Do they not have any songs of their own to sing? Why are they singing more TVXQ songs than the real TVXQ?"
"It's the 'real TVXQ' and an 'imposter TVXQ' lol."
"It's fine for them to hold a 20th anniversary concert and look back on their careers, but treating TVXQ like a group in history when the members are still promoting actively, that's a little weird."
"They only spent about 6 years in TVXQ and had 'successful' solo careers from then until now, right? So where are all those 'successful' solo songs?"
"You can't help but perceive the JX concert and the setlist as a challenge to SM and the current TVXQ members."
"They both have problematic members but they're both promoting just fine..."
