"I went clubbing with my mom," Nana opens up about close bond with her mother and shares thoughts on dating

Singer and actress Nana has drawn attention by revealing her special bond with her mother as well as her personal thoughts on dating.

On the latest broadcast of the MBC variety program 'Point of Omniscient Interfere,' Nana appeared on a variety show for the first time in 10 years to share her daily life. During the broadcast, she had meaningful conversations with the female manager she currently works with.

Nana said, "After debut, I met a female manager for the first time, and since she’s a woman, there were many things we could relate to. Sharing things I had never shared before brought us closer as person to person, friend to friend. She’s the manager I get along with best among all the managers I’ve met so far," showing her affection for her manager.

The manager drew viewers’ attention by visiting Nana’s home and casually holding her dog while saying, "I texted with your mom yesterday."

The manager also spoke about Nana’s relationship with her mother, saying, "Your mother is very caring and likes to look after people. She often had meals without Nana. She always sends gifts during holidays."

When Jeon Hyun Moo asked, "I heard your mother gets along well with Nana’s friends too," Nana opened up about her mother’s open personality. Nana replied, "She’s really open. When friends come over, she drinks with them and even gives them advice," surprising the studio audience.

Nana shared an even more striking story, revealing that she enjoyed a year-end party at a club with her mother.

"Two years ago at the end of the year, before January 1, I went to a club with my friends. My mother came too, and we danced, drank, and celebrated the new year together," she said, causing a stir in the studio.

On the same episode, the manager joked, "Nana, you’re almost forty," to which a surprised Nana responded, "Almost forty? I still have a long way to go," emphasizing that she is 34 years old.

Nana then offered her manager advice, saying, "Dating is something you just squeeze in during your spare time."

Watching this, MC Song Eun Yi asked Nana, "Is this from your personal experience?" and Nana simply smiled.

The manager expressed sincerity, saying, "Nana, you should meet someone good and get married," and Nana replied, "I’m consistently meeting people well." Upon hearing this, Jeon Hyun Moo laughed, saying, "I guess you’re good at using your spare time."

Nana added, "I like thoughtful and gentle people. I think I care less and less about appearance as time goes on."

Following her comments, past dating rumors with 29-year-old model Chae Jong Seok resurfaced, drawing renewed attention.

The two were previously rumored to be dating in December 2024, when a media outlet reported that they had been together for a long time. Notably, they appeared together in Baek Ji Young’s music video for "Indeed, It Was Love," performing bold scenes as an acting couple.

Reports also indicate that they traveled together to Bali, enjoyed relatively casual dates, and shared photos on social media taken at the same locations, raising suspicions of a 'Lovestagram.'

However, both Nana’s agency, Sublime, and Chae Jong Seok’s agency, Esteem, stated, "It’s difficult to confirm as it’s private life. We ask for your understanding," effectively neither confirming nor denying the reports.

Meanwhile, Chae Jong Seok debuted as a model at the 2022 F/W Seoul Fashion Week and has appeared in various ads and music videos. After experiencing a traumatic home robbery incident last year, Nana and her mother refused to appear in court as witnesses against the suspect.
