Doh Kyung Soo’s ‘Popcorn’ resurges on charts two years after release

Doh Kyung Soo is experiencing a surprise chart resurgence with his track ‘Popcorn,’ nearly two years after its release.

Recently, ‘Popcorn’ entered Melon’s real time chart and quickly gained momentum, ultimately reaching No. 27 on the platform’s daily chart as of April 6. The track has also ranked high in Melon’s search trends and popularity charts, while simultaneously climbing other major platforms, including No. 2 on FLO, No. 7 on Bugs, and No. 24 on Genie, demonstrating its widespread appeal.

Originally released in May 2024 as part of Doh Kyung Soo’s third mini album ‘Growth,’ ‘Popcorn’ is a sweet track that compares the excitement of being with a loved one to popping popcorn. Its playful lyrics, whistle driven sound, and the singer’s warm, gentle vocals have contributed to its renewed popularity.

The song also gained attention following its mention on the tvN variety show 'Green Bean, Red Bean spin-off : Joy Pops Laugh Pops', where Kim Woo Bin requested the track during a road trip. Doh Kyung Soo responded by singing it on the spot, creating a lighthearted and heartwarming moment that resonated with viewers and sparked renewed interest in the song.

Beyond music, Doh Kyung Soo has remained active in both acting and entertainment.
