Kim Go Eun is receiving warm support after sharing the heartbreaking news that her beloved pet dog Wol has passed away.

On May 12 KST, Kim posted photos of Wol on social media alongside the short but emotional message, “I love you, Wol.”

The photos captured special memories from the moment Kim first met the rescue dog at an animal shelter to later days spent together, including moments at drama filming locations.

Over one final photo of Wol with closed eyes, Kim wrote, “Don’t be sick there.”

Kim Go eun first adopted Wol in June 2022 after learning about the dog through a volunteer connected to a rescue shelter. At the time, Wol — originally named Gumi — had reportedly been abandoned in a remote area.

According to the volunteer, the dog, believed to be around six months old at the time, showed difficulty walking during health examinations. Wol often tilted its head to the left and struggled to maintain balance, with veterinarians suspecting a congenital brain condition.

After meeting the dog in person, Kim reportedly expressed her desire to help treat Wol and decided to adopt the puppy despite the uncertain prognosis.

Wol later experienced repeated hospitalizations due to vomiting, diarrhea, and injuries caused by losing balance and falling into walls. During examinations for a neutering procedure, the dog was diagnosed with a rare incurable illness involving brain abnormalities.

Despite the condition, Wol spent four years surrounded by Kim Go eun’s care and affection.

At the time of the adoption, Kim had left a message through the volunteer saying, “I’ll take good care of her,” and she continued to openly share her love for Wol through photos and stories over the years.

Many fans praised Kim Go eun for giving a sick rescue dog a loving home and staying by Wol’s side until the very end.
