Rosé and Bruno Mars' success with their new single "APT" has helped bring a classic Korean song back into the spotlight.

On October 25 KST, the single "Apartment" by Yoon Soo Il reached #951 on MelOn’s real-time daily chart, marking its first entry into the chart since MelOn’s launch. Analysts credit the success of Rosé and Bruno Mars's "APT" for this resurgence, bringing renewed interest to a song over 40 years old.

Streaming numbers for "Apartment" have surged since the release of "APT" on October 18, with daily listeners on Melon increasing by 122% compared to October 17. On another music site, Genie, streaming for "Apartment" also skyrocketed by 190% over the week following the release.

"Apartment" has been loved as a 'national song' since its release in 1982 and is a popular chant at soccer and baseball games. It has also been remixed by artists like Kim Gun Mo and DJ DOC and was most recently covered by Lim Young Woong at the Sangam Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Recently, several remix videos combining "Apartment" with "APT" have also begun appearing on YouTube, drawing hot reactions across social media and online communities.

Netizens have responded with playful comments like, "Congrats to Yoon Soo Il on the ‘reconstruction’ of his 'Apartment' after 42 years," "Manager Yoon finally did it," and "Found my ‘old apartment’ anthem."

Yoon Soon Il himself expressed his delight during a call on MBC Standard FM’s Trot Radio with Son Tae Jin on October 23, praising Rosé and Bruno Mars’s concept, saying, "It’s great that they’re bringing attention to the same theme of ‘apartment’ on a global scale. Although trends and societal moods have changed a lot since 40 years ago, 'APT' has that catchy, addictive hook, much like my song that once held the top noraebang spot for ten years."

Meanwhile, as previously reported, "APT" is proving to be not just a success in global markets but in Korea as well, sweeping real-time and daily charts on platforms like MelOn, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe and achieving a Perfect All-Kill (PAK).
