Former Weki Meki member Ji Su Yeon has signed an exclusive contract with tapes, a label under the comprehensive entertainment company Mound Media, marking the start of a new chapter in her career.

Tapes shared, “We are very pleased to have signed an exclusive contract with Ji Su Yeon. As an artist with stable live vocals and delicate expressive ability, she continues to tell her own story without being confined to a specific genre, which makes this partnership even more exciting.”

They added, “We will provide our full support so she can continue to deliver a voice that resonates with the public across various fields.”

Ji Su Yeon debuted in 2017 as the main vocalist of Weki Meki, earning love for her stable singing and emotional depth.

She has since expanded her presence as an actress, appearing in musicals such as 'Bungee Jumping of Their Own,' 'The Three Musketeers,' and 'Crash Landing on You.' She has also consistently showcased her vocal talents through OSTs, including “Rather Good” for the variety show 'Manchinnam' and “I'll Let You Go” for the drama 'Dare to Love Me.'

Meanwhile, Weki Meki released numerous hit songs and received strong fan support before officially concluding group activities on August 8, 2024. The members have since been pursuing individual projects and new challenges.

Last year, Ji Su Yeon further proved her potential as a singer-songwriter by releasing her first single, “A Fish Gone to the Forest,” in which she participated in both writing and composing. The track, which delicately expresses devoted love and a wish for another’s happiness, highlighted her emotional musical identity.

Ji Su Yeon is currently preparing to release a new single soon and has hinted at an expanded musical direction following her exclusive contract. She also plans to continue releasing new music and engaging in various activities in the second half of the year.

Tapes, the label she has joined, brings together artists from diverse fields, including singer-songwriters and writers. Under the motto that “different forms of content leave their own traces on people,” the label focuses on experimental content and artistic expansion across music, performances, and exhibitions.

Its roster includes singer-songwriters Cloud, Kim Seung Ju, Kwon So Jung, band Crispy, Ghost Bookstore, and writer Angu.
