MBLAQ's Mir addresses the wedding video controversy after Kim Jang Hoon's apology
by K-Soul · allkpopMBLAQ's Mir has directly addressed the controversy surrounding his wedding after singer Kim Jang Hoon posted a video of the couple without the bride's face blurred.
On December 25, a video was uploaded to Go Eun Ah's YouTube channel, Bangga Family, featuring a phone conversation with singer Kim Jang Hoon discussing the controversy over the wedding, which had allegedly been held behind closed doors.
The issue stemmed from claims that Mir’s wedding, held on December 20, was a private event, along with accusations that Kim Jang Hoon—who performed the congratulatory song—had revealed the bride’s face without consent.
In the video, Mir's sister, Go Eun Ah, clearly stated that Mir’s wedding was not private. She explained that because the bride is a non-celebrity, reporters simply chose not to attend out of consideration. She added that she was grateful to Kim Jang Hoon for his performance during the second part of the ceremony, and expressed regret that the situation had escalated into controversy.
Mir, who is currently on his honeymoon, also shared his thoughts via phone call. He said it was baffling that the wedding was labeled “private,” explaining that reporters did not attend simply because he is no longer a public figure drawing media attention, not because the event was closed off.
Mir further voiced his frustration, noting that he had not even handed over his own wedding footage to an editor yet, but found himself forced to issue clarifications first.
Kim Jang Hoon responded calmly to the siblings’ apologies, saying it was no problem at all and that he did not see the matter as serious.
Go Eun Ah jokingly remarked that thanks to Kim Jang Hoon, the wedding had gained unexpected publicity, drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, the incident has sparked broader discussion online, raising awareness about the exposure of personal information at celebrities’ private events—such as weddings—regardless of the individuals’ intentions.
