TikTok chart-topper Han Yi Seo releases first mini-album 'The Subway That Doesn't Go Backwards'
by spjw99 · allkpopSinger-songwriter Han Yi Seo has made her comeback after two years with the release of her first mini-album, 'The Subway That Doesn't Go Backwards,' on July 7.
The new album is Han Yi Seo's first formal release in two years and features six tracks, all of which she personally wrote and composed. The tracklist includes the title song of the same name, along with "The Courage to Stand Alone," "Perfectionist," "Averse to Marriage," "Present Progressive," and "Let's Meet Again for Sure."
The title track, "The Subway That Doesn't Go Backwards," was reportedly inspired by watching a subway train cross a bridge over the Han River. It carries a hopeful message about not dwelling on past failures and regrets, but instead moving forward steadily on one's own path.
Among the B-sides, "Present Progressive" is a representative track for the artist, having previously topped the TikTok music chart when it was released as a single two years ago. The album also features "Let's Meet Again for Sure," her first duet, which she recorded with her younger sister and actress, Han Seo Yu. The two sisters co-wrote and co-composed the song.
Regarding the album, Han Yi Seo shared, "In the album, I captured stories of wavering, loving, changing, and sometimes facing farewells amidst an imperfect start, but ultimately moving forward again. I hope listeners gain the courage and strength to keep moving forward without stopping." The album was released on various online music platforms at 12 PM KST.
