by Alec06 · allkpopActor Lee Byung Hun has been named one of the ‘10 best film performances of 2025’ by The New York Times Magazine.
The outlet recently unveiled its annual ‘Great Performers’ list, spotlighting 10 actors who delivered standout performances on screen this year. Framed around the question, “What is the essence of acting if not direct access to emotion?”, the feature focuses on how actors bring raw human emotions, such as love, hate, joy, and sorrow, to life through their performances.
Lee Byung Hun earned his place on the list for his role in the film ‘No Other Choice’. Speaking in an interview, he shared, “I don’t think about my real life when I’m acting,” explaining that fully immersing himself in the story is key to expressing emotions authentically. He added that unexpected emotions often emerge during filming, sometimes surprising even himself.
The list also includes major figures in contemporary cinema such as Liam Neeson (‘The Naked Gun’), Kirsten Dunst (‘Roofman’), and Teyana Taylor (‘One Battle After Another’). Through these performances, The New York Times Magazine highlights how deeply human emotions are translated onto the screen.
This recognition further solidifies Lee Byung Hun’s global reputation as an actor known for his emotional depth and ability to portray complex inner lives beyond language and cultural boundaries.
Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun was also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
