Ki Eun Se apologizes after “Nuisance construction” complaint over Pyeongchang-dong home renovation
by Demian09 · allkpopActress Ki Eun Se issued an apology after facing public criticism over alleged inconvenience caused by renovation work at her detached house in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno District, Seoul.
According to reports from May 7, an online community post written by a user identifying themselves as a family member of a resident in the neighborhood sparked the controversy. The post claimed that prolonged renovation work at the property, which Ki Eun Se recently moved into, had significantly disrupted daily life in the area.
The writer alleged that construction vehicles had taken over narrow residential roads, making it difficult for even a single car to pass through. They also raised concerns about construction waste and dust not being properly managed, stating that cleanliness standards in the area had been neglected.
In addition, the post criticized repeated delays in the project timeline. The construction, which was initially expected to finish in mid-April, was reportedly postponed to mid-May, with no clear completion date provided afterward.
The complainant further accused the situation of reflecting a “privileged attitude,” suggesting that the inconvenience caused to local residents was being treated as acceptable due to the homeowner’s celebrity status.
As the post gained traction online, Ki Eun Se’s side responded promptly. The original poster later updated their statement, saying they had received an apology message from the actress’s representatives. They also noted that Ki Eun Se’s team visited the site in person and promised to address key issues, including parking management and waste disposal.
Meanwhile, Ki Eun Se has been actively sharing updates about her life in the Pyeongchang-dong residence through her YouTube channel and social media accounts. She previously mentioned that the renovation had been delayed due to unexpected structural updates and rising costs, describing the situation as more difficult than initially anticipated.
The incident has sparked broader discussion online about construction etiquette in residential neighborhoods and the responsibilities of property owners, particularly public figures, during large-scale renovation projects.
