'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,' which aired on TVING and tvN, wrapped up its run with its final episode on June 16 at 8:50 PM KST.

The drama, starring Park Ji Hoon, was adapted from a popular web novel and webtoon. It follows the story of Private First Class Kang Sung Jae, who levels up his cooking skills as if in a video game and rises to become a legendary military cook within his unit. Blending military life, fantasy, and cooking elements, the series showcased Park Ji Hoon's performance as the ambitious protagonist and left a lasting impression on viewers.

The drama got off to a strong start, recording ratings above 5% from its premiere. It later maintained steady viewership in the 7–8% range, building a loyal audience throughout its run. On TVING, it also ranked No. 1 in paid subscriber contribution, demonstrating its popularity on the streaming platform.

On June 16, YY Entertainment shared behind-the-scenes photos from the set through its official social media accounts.

One image showed Park Ji Hoon in a military uniform holding a cake that read, "Salute! Kang Sung Jae. As of today, I have been honorably discharged. Thank you for all your hard work." Another photo captured the actor with camouflage paint on his face, fully immersed in a training scene.

Park Ji Hoon also expressed his sadness over the show's conclusion by posting a photo on his personal social media account alongside a crying emoji.

Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support and disappointment over the drama's ending, writing, "Kang Sung Jae can't leave us—what am I supposed to do on Mondays and Tuesdays now?", "Kang Sung Jae, we love you forever," and "It's hard to say goodbye because I'll miss this drama so much."
