Former VIXX member Ravi concludes public service and apologizes once again for forging his medical records to dodge military service
by Susan-Han · allkpopOn March 27 KST, former VIXX member Ravi updated his Instagram for the first time in nearly 3 years, confirming that he has concluded his mandatory public service.
He wrote,
"Hello, this is Ravi.
It's been a while.
In October of 2022, while fulfilling my mandatory military service duties as a public service worker, I was put on trial for attempting to dodge the country's mandatory military service. As a result, my public service was temporarily halted. Following the trial's conclusion, I was ordered to complete the remainder of my service, which I then concluded on December 13, 2025.
Through the above events, I came to realize how embarrassed I was with myself, using my circumstances as an excuse to ask for understanding when I should have been looking back on myself. I also learned that such cowardly decisions could harm and negatively affect many people.
Once again, I apologize to those who were hurt by my wrongful actions. In order to go on living as a better person, I will constantly learn and put myself in my place.
Thank you."
Previously in late 2022, Ravi was accused of forging his medical records through a broker in an attempt to dodge South Korea's mandatory military service. He was then put on trial and found guilty in April of 2023, being sentenced to 1-year in prison, deferred by a probationary period of 2-years. Following the court ruling, the musician formally apologized via his SNS and announced his departure from VIXX.
The above marks Ravi's first public statement after his initial apology in 2023.
However, it seems that due to backlash from netizens accusing him of "making moves to return to activities", the new SNS post has since been taken down.
