by · allkpop

NEXZ has proven its rapid rise by setting a new personal record with its second single 'Mmchk.'

Released on April 27, “Mmchk” recorded 444,730 copies in first-week sales (Hanteo Chart), marking a career high for the group. This represents an impressive 277% increase compared to their debut single “Ride the Vibe.” The album also topped the weekly retail album chart on Circle Chart for the period of April 26 to May 2.

NEXZ has highlighted performance and team chemistry as its core strengths, and their first week of comeback promotions showcased exactly that. The group delivered high-impact stages filled with energy and synergy among members Tomoya, Yu, Haru, Sogun, Seita, Hui, and Yuki, solidifying their reputation as a “next-generation performance top-tier” act.

From Mnet’s 'M Countdown' on April 30 to SBS’s 'Inkigayo' on May 3, NEXZ captivated audiences with dynamic performances of “Mmchk.” Known as an “all-dancer group,” the members—each trained in various styles such as breaking, hip-hop, pop, jazz, house, and locking—demonstrated a well-balanced choreography that highlighted their individual colors. A dance practice video released on May 2 further showcased the group’s precision and performance quality.

Additionally, the “Mmchk” performance challenge featuring fellow JYP Entertainment artists—including Stray KidsI.N, ITZY’s Ryujin, NiziU’s Maya, NMIXX’s Haewon, and KickFlip’s Minje—has garnered high view counts, further boosting the group’s visibility and buzz.
