Kim Dong Wan halts personal SNS activity after controversies

Kim Dong Wan of Shinhwa announced that he will stop personally managing his social media accounts.

On May 12, Kim Dong wan shared a message on his SNS, writing, “From now on, Instagram and Threads will be managed by the office,” before adding, “Please stay healthy, everyone. Let’s happily meet again offline someday.

Kim Dong Wan has frequently shared outspoken opinions on various social issues through social media over the years.

Earlier this year, he faced strong criticism after uploading a post perceived as supporting the legalization of prostitution. He also drew backlash for publicly defending broadcaster MC Dingdong amid assault allegations involving a female BJ, as well as supporting Lee Soo of M.C the Max, who previously faced controversy over sexual crimes involving a minor.

More recently, Kim Dong wan became a topic of discussion after commenting on entertainer Yootong, who has reportedly gone through eight marriages and divorces, saying, “There’s no need to criticize Yootong. Everyone lives their own life.”

Kim Dong wan debuted as a member of Shinhwa in 1998 and has also continued his acting career.
