Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Yeo Been confirmed for ENA’s new drama 'Unshakable Forties’ Romance'

Actors Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Yeo Been are set to headline the upcoming “adult romance” drama 'Unshakable Forties’ Romance.'

On May 15, broadcaster ENA officially announced the confirmed cast for the new series, written by Lee Re and directed by Lee Chang Min. The lineup also includes Choi Dae Hoon and Kang Mal Geum.

'Unshakable Forties’ Romance' tells the story of a star news anchor suffering from early menopause-like symptoms and a writer who constantly clashes with him. As they attempt to revive a low-rated current affairs program, the two unexpectedly rekindle their long-dormant feelings for romance.

Jung Kyung Ho takes on the role of Na Yi Joon, the face of YCB’s newsroom. Once celebrated as the network’s youngest-ever anchor, he suddenly faces the biggest crisis of his life after developing early menopausal symptoms.

During a live broadcast, Yi Joon loses emotional control and struggles to regulate his body temperature, causing an on-air incident. As a result, he is removed from the main news desk and reassigned to a struggling current affairs show with the lowest ratings.

Jeon Yeo Been plays Seo Hae Yoon, a veteran current affairs writer who has worked across multiple broadcasting stations for over a decade. Determined to boost ratings at any cost, she does not hesitate to pursue sensational news stories.

However, Hae Yoon’s tough attitude stems from her responsibility toward junior writers who depend on her. Already overwhelmed by a program on the verge of cancellation, she finds herself even more troubled after Yi Joon joins the team.

The chemistry between Jung Kyung Ho and Jeon Yeo Been is expected to become one of the drama’s key highlights. Rather than youthful excitement, the series portrays a mature romance in which health concerns come before love, yet dormant emotions begin to resurface unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, Choi Dae Hoon and Kang Mal Geum will portray a divorced couple. Choi plays Ji Han Soo, a newsroom reporter aspiring to become a YCB anchor, while Kang takes on the role of Heo Mi Eun, Hae Yoon’s close friend and fellow broadcast writer.

The production team stated, “The synergy between Jung Kyung Ho, Jeon Yeo Been, Choi Dae Hoon, and Kang Mal Geum will deliver a richer and deeper flavor of mature romance beyond expectations.”

'Unshakable Forties’ Romance' is scheduled to begin filming soon and is expected to premiere on ENA in the first half of next year.
