BTS and Jennie score major Billboard resurgence with global chart climbs
by Alec06 · allkpopK-pop continues to demonstrate its overwhelming global influence as BTS and Jennie are drawing attention for their strong Billboard chart resurgence.
BTS successfully reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart with “SWIM,” while Jennie entered the top 10 of the Hot 100 with her collaboration track “Dracula,” originally released late last year.
According to Billboard’s latest chart update dated May 16, BTS’s title track “SWIM” from the group’s fifth full-length album ‘Arirang’ rose to No. 1 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 2 on the Global 200 chart. The song climbed back to the top after rising one spot from the previous week.
The group also maintained strong momentum on the Billboard 200 album chart. BTS’s comeback album ‘Arirang’ ranked No. 7, marking its seventh consecutive week inside the chart’s top 10.
Meanwhile, Jennie achieved a significant milestone as a solo artist. Her collaboration track “Dracula,” released in October last year, climbed into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Unlike the current music industry trend where songs typically peak shortly after release, “Dracula” has shown steady long-term growth through gradual increases in radio airplay and streaming numbers across music platforms over the past several months.
Through “Dracula,” Jennie became the second BLACKPINK member after Rosé to enter the upper ranks of the Hot 100 as a solo artist.
The achievement has further fueled discussions within and outside the K-pop industry that BLACKPINK’s members have now fully established themselves as individually competitive solo artists beyond the group’s already massive brand power.
