Park Ji Hoon has shared his plans for mandatory military service.

On May 6, actress Kim Jung Nan’s YouTube channel released a special video with Park Ji Hoon, titled, "“I Knew He’d Make It!” Park Ji-hoon Makes Mom Kim Jung-nan’s Dream Come True (Baeksang Nominee)."

In the video, Park Ji Hoon—who recently joined the ranks of actors with films surpassing 10 million viewers through 'The King's Warden' (directed by Jang Hang Jun)—appeared as a guest.

He has also been making headlines for the recent reunion of Wanna One.

Regarding the reunion, he shared, “Two members couldn’t attend. Lai Kuan Lin is in China, and Kang Daniel has already enlisted in the military,” expressing his disappointment.

When asked about his own enlistment plans, Park Ji Hoon said, “By next year, I really have to go to the military. There’s a specific branch I want to join—the Marine Corps.” He added, “There’s an age limit of 29, and since I’m 28 now, I have about a year left.”

Addressing concerns about possibly regretting the decision, he responded, “People around me say I’ll definitely regret it on the first day of enlistment. But when someone tells me not to go, it actually makes me want to go even more,” revealing his contrarian streak.

He also explained his goal of joining a specialized unit, saying, “I’m not very good at swimming. I’m more focused on running. I want to be selected for the ROK Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Unit, which requires being chosen from within the Marine Corps.”

With a laugh, he added, “My mother is actually very happy about it. She told me to go somewhere tough. Maybe it means I still have some growing up to do.”
