On October 4, veteran actress Youn Yeo Jung and film director Kim Cho Hee appeared as guests on radio host Choi Hwa Jung's YouTube channel.

While chatting, Choi Hwa Jung mentioned that Youn Yeo Jung likes to have her fortune told for entertainment. "But funnily, none of the fortune tellers predicted that [Youn Yeo Jung] would win an 'Academy Award'," Choi Hwa Jung noted.

Hearing this, Youn Yeo Jung's good friend Kim Cho Hee remarked, "They all told sunsaengnim that she would die that year, the year she won the award."

Seeing Kim Cho Hee's joking smile, Youn Yeo Jung recalled, "That's right. While I was filming 'Pachinko' in Canada, [Kim Cho Hee] kept calling me to ask if anything had happened to me. So I just said, 'Don't worry, I'm definitely alive'."

The veteran actress further explained, "Three fortune tellers told me that my fortune was not looking good that year. Another old man told me that I would die. But it turns out, they read that a major event was going to happen in my life at the age of 75. But none of them knew what the 'Academy Awards' was, and because I'm an old woman, they just thought that 'a major event' meant death (laughter)."

In 2021, at the age of 75 (Korean age), Youn Yeo Jung won the 'Academy Award' for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her role in the film 'Minari'.
