Netizen reignites allegations as Jo Se Ho announces return to activities
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopAs news of Jo Se Ho’s return to activities emerged, the netizen who first raised allegations of his alleged ties to an acquaintance involved in organized crime has spoken out again.
The netizen, identified as A, recently posted on social media, writing, “Jo Se Ho is making a comeback? So he’s returning now because the (gang-affiliated acquaintance) fled overseas and can’t be investigated? I see. Go ahead and come back. Then I’ll release a video of him drinking at that person’s house with his wife.”
Last month, the production team of Netflix’s variety show 'Screwballs' stated, “All cast and staff are diligently preparing for the new season. Jo Se Ho will also continue with Screwballs in the upcoming season. We ask for your continued interest and support.”
This marked Jo Se Ho’s announcement of a return to activities just 22 days after declaring a hiatus and self-reflection following the controversy.
Netizen A continued with another post, saying, “I told him to quietly reflect and then return, but now it feels like he wants to test me. Fine. Go ahead and make your comeback. Just a ‘casual acquaintance’? If it was just that, why introduce your wife before marriage and drink together at his house?”
In November last year, allegations surfaced claiming that Jo Se Ho had connections with acquaintances involved in organized crime and that he had received expensive gifts from individuals suspected of illegal money laundering. Jo Se Ho firmly denied all allegations, repeatedly stating that claims of direct or indirect involvement with criminal activities or accepting high-value gifts were completely untrue.
However, as public opinion worsened, he stepped down from KBS2’s '2 Days & 1 Night' and tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block'.
