Kim Hyun Joong’s latest MV receives broadcast restriction

by · allkpop

Singer Kim Hyun Joong’s latest music video has been deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS.

According to the broadcaster’s recently released results for the second round of music video reviews in June 2026, the music video for “Chickenia,” which was released on June 6, received a non-broadcast rating.

KBS cited the use of inappropriate language in subtitles and scenes that could encourage imitation of drinking behavior as the reasons for the decision.

The “Chickenia” music video embraces a playful B-movie concept, drawing inspiration from two of Korea’s favorite comfort foods—fried chicken and beer. The project was designed to deliver humor and entertainment through its quirky visuals and lighthearted storytelling.

While the ruling prevents the current version of the music video from being aired on KBS, artists and agencies can typically revise content and resubmit videos for further review if they choose.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong continues his music activities and has remained active in the entertainment industry in recent years, releasing new music and connecting with fans through various projects.
