Jihyo reveals that TWICE plans to take a break from group activities for the rest of the year

On July 10, Forbes released a new interview with Jihyo - covering everything from her latest song releases to her career goals. Jihyo also discussed TWICE's legendary run over the past few years, as the group has delivered record-breaking comebacks, successful tours, and more. Considering TWICE's incredibly busy 11 year career, Jihyo was asked about the group's future plans.
She revealed that TWICE will soon be taking a much-needed break. "For the past 11 years, as TWICE and as a solo artist, we barely had any breaks, so I want to spend the rest of this year relaxing and taking a bit of a break." Jihyo explained that after completing their current world tour, TWICE plans to take a break from group activities for the rest of the year.
TWICE is set to wrap up their 'THIS IS FOR' world tour this weekend with a final concert in Seoul. Marking the group's sixth world tour, TWICE has just completed 81 shows in less than a year - all while consistently making comebacks and releasing other content as well.
Jihyo expressed her hopes that fans would understand TWICE's need for a break, and promised that the group would be back soon. "This break is really something we need in order to work better in the future, so I hope our fans understand."
Jihyo also shared her excitement over her latest activities, after recently releasing the collaboration track 'Distant Lover' with Shenseea. She revealed behind-the-scenes details from the recording process, and expressed her happiness with how the song turned out. "I was able to show different sides than Sheensea, and we came together harmoniously. We made the entire song very complete. This is the only song that I listen to these days.”
She stated that she hopes to collaborate with even more international artists in the future, and said her dream artists to collaborate with would be Rihanna, Kehlani, Bad Bunny, and Shakira.
As for her solo work, Jihyo said she has exciting plans. “In the future, if the chance happens upon me, I would love to release a jazzy R&B album. That’s my little dream I have."
