Bekuh Boom alleges past abuse during Korea career

American singer songwriter Bekuh Boom, known for co writing multiple hits for BLACKPINK, has sparked controversy after alleging she was forced into an abortion during her time working in Korea.

Through a series of TikTok videos and comments, Bekuh Boom claimed that around the age of 18 she was “exploited for years” under the promise of a record deal, subjected to verbal abuse, and pressured into terminating a pregnancy after revealing it to her label.

Although she did not explicitly name the company, her past long term collaboration with YG Entertainment has led many to speculate that the allegations are directed toward the agency.

She also referenced her experience working on BLACKPINK’s song 'Typa Girl', claiming she was “seriously insulted” during the process and stating, “They were all in on it,” implying a lack of support from those around her.

The allegations have triggered intense debate across global social media platforms. Some users have expressed shock and criticized the alleged behavior of the agency and those involved, while others have questioned the credibility of the claims, pointing to a lack of verified evidence and suggesting possible personal grievances.

Bekuh Boom, born in 1994, is a notable figure in K pop production. She first gained recognition for co writing 'Eyes, Nose, Lips' by Taeyang, and later contributed to major BLACKPINK hits such as 'BOOMBAYAH', 'DDU DU DDU DU', and 'Kill This Love'.

She has also worked with artists like WINNER and Jeon So Mi. In August last year, music IP company Beyond Music acquired a catalog of 33 songs associated with her, drawing further attention to her career.

As discussions continue, no official statement has yet been released by the parties mentioned in the speculation.
