Disney+ Confirms Series Adaptation of ‘The Miracles of the Namiya General Store’ Featuring Ryu Seung Ryong, Kim Hye Yoon, Kim Min Ha and Star-Studded Cast
by K-Soul · allkpopDisney+ will be producing a series adaptation of 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store,' featuring a total of 20 actors, including Ryu Seung Ryong and Kim Hye Yoon.
'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store' is based on the best-selling novel by Keigo Higashino. The story follows three petty thieves who hide inside the long-closed Namiya General Store, only to find themselves responding to letters that arrive from the past, leading to a series of unexpected events.
Ryu Seung Ryong will take on the role of the main character, Go Min Joong. Rising actors Kang Yoo Seok, Park Jung Woo, and Kim Sung Jung have been cast as the trio of petty thieves.
Kim Hye Yoon, Moon Sang Min, and Yoon Kyung Ho will also join the cast, adding depth to the series’ various episodes. Go Ah Sung, Lee Soo Kyung, Kim Min Ha, Bae In Hyuk, Park Hee Soon, Oh Na Ra, Moon Woo Jin, and Park Se Wan are also part of the lineup.
The special appearance lineup is equally impressive, featuring Yum Jung Ah, Yeom Hye Ran, Jung Chae Yeon, and Jang Dong Yoon.
The series will be written and directed by Park Young Joo, who received acclaim for her detailed direction in the film 'Citizen of a Kind.' Production will be handled by The Lamp, known for successful projects such as 'Salmokji: Whispering Water,' 'A Taxi Driver,' 'Malmoe: The Secret Mission,' 'Samjin Company English Class,' and 'Escape.'
Meanwhile, 'The Miracles of the Namiya General Store' began filming on April 14 and is scheduled for a global release on Disney+ in 2027.
