Seungmin will be unable to participate in Stray Kids’ upcoming performance at the 'Governors Ball Music Festival' in New York after being diagnosed with a left ankle stress fracture, according to an official statement from JYP Entertainment.

On May 21, JYP Entertainment announced via its official social media channels that Seungmin will not be joining the group for the festival scheduled for June 7 in the United States. The agency confirmed that Stray Kids will proceed with the performance as a seven-member group.

The company explained that Seungmin first experienced pain in his left ankle in March and sought medical attention. At the time, he received a professional opinion suggesting a possible stress fracture and has since been undergoing continuous treatment and monitoring.

Further medical examinations later confirmed a stress fracture in the same area. JYP stated that Seungmin is currently undergoing detailed testing to check for related conditions while focusing on treatment and recovery.

The agency also noted that he has been avoiding strenuous physical activity in daily life and is minimizing long-distance travel, including extended flights, in order to prioritize rest and rehabilitation.

“We sincerely apologize to fans who were looking forward to his performance,” the statement said, adding that the company will continue to prioritize the artist’s health and ensure he receives appropriate medical care.

The Governors Ball Music Festival is an annual large-scale outdoor music festival held in New York City each summer. Stray Kids are scheduled to perform as headliners on June 7, marking a major stage appearance despite Seungmin’s absence.
