Vidya Balan on movies and re-releases

BollywoodLife spoke to Vidya Balan about the current state of the film industry. For quite some time, several big-budget movies starring big stars have been struggling to make good numbers at the box office. When asked her thoughts on the same, the actress answered, "We can't generalise. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has worked; Singham Again has worked. Munjya and Stree 2 have worked. All kinds of films are working. We can't say that films with big stars are not working. Some films don't work. Har film ki kismat hoti hai. It's a sad truth we all have to be content with. You know, as long as a film is good, it has a chance of working. Then sometimes very small films that are good are not distributed widely enough to be watched by all the people. Those are other issues we won't get into."

The Do Aur Do Pyaar actress further added, "When given a fair chance, a good film will always work. Maybe that's not fair; har film ki kismat hoti hai. By that measure, when I said that good films will always work, that means films that don't work are not good. That's not true."

Further in this entertainment news, we also asked the actress about the trend of movies re-releasing and which movie of hers she would like to see in the theatres again. The actress responded, "I would love to watch Kahaani on the big screen again. I would love to watch the movie and it is timeless. I wish they released it again. I think it's fantastic, just to bring people back to theatre because aadat hamari thodi se choot gayi hai (laughs). Hum thode se aalsi ho gaye hai. Maybe the lure of watching one of your favourite films will bring people back."
