Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan made his Bollywood debut with Refugee in 2000 with Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film was directed by JP Dutta. Well, Kareena and Abhishek's first romantic scene in the movie was about to get shot when Bebo ruined it for Junior Bachchan. Yes, you read that right! Abhishek appeared on an episode of Rendezvous with Simi Garewal and explained how Kareena Kapoor Khan left him surprised with her confidence in her first Bollywood film. He said that Bebo spoiled his first romantic scene by calling him brother. In the scene, Abhishek and Kareena's characters are sitting on the stairs of a dargah and she is trying to convince him not to leave.

In the episode, Abhishek Bachchan told Kareena that he will never forgive her for ruining the scene for him. He said, 'I know the first thing you ever said to me was, 'This is our first romantic scene together and how can I fall in love with you, you're like my brother'. He also added saying, 'I was sitting opposite her on the stairs, and she just turned and said, 'But JP uncle (the film's director), he's like my brother, how can I fall in love with him?'

Abhishek also praised Kareena and said that, 'What surprised me about Bebo (Kareena's nickname) when I was first in front of her on the camera was her confidence'. Abhishek even said, 'I remember you telling me, 'You just wait and watch, you're bullying me now, but one day I'm going to be the number one star of the country,' and I love that about you. I looked upon you and saw how comfortable and confident you were, and that egged me on to do better.'

Kareena also praised Abhishek and said that it was fun to work with him on the film. Abhishek and Kareena even shared the screen in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hun in 2003 and the film did not do well on the box office. On the work front, Abhishek was last seen in Ghoomer and he has Sujoy Ghosh's King in his kitty. He will play an antagonist in the film.
