New dad Ranveer Singh on a paternity break? Here's when he will begin prep for Farhan Akhtar's Don 3

Ranveer Singh, who recently became a dad to a baby girl, will take some more time before he starts working on Don 3. Is he taking a paternity break?

Ranveer Singh is currently in a happy zone as he and Deepika Padukone recently welcomed their baby girl. The couple announced earlier this week that they are expecting their first child together. On September 8, DP gave birth to their baby girl at a hospital in Mumbai. On September 15, the new parents were spotted returning home from the hospital. While their personal lives are occupied with the arrival of a new family member, there's an update on Singh's Don 3.

A few days ago, it was reported that the shooting of Don 3 is now postponed as Farhan Akhtar has signed a movie as an actor. So what does it mean for Ranveer Singh? As reported by News 18 Showsha, Ranveer will start with the prep of his thriller film in March 2025. So it will take six months for Singh to officially start working on the third installment.

About this piece of entertainment news, a source told the portal, "The pre-production work on the film is currently underway. And the prep on the same will begin next year in March, as apart from Farhan, Ranveer is also busy with Aditya Dhar’s untitled next and recently embraced fatherhood." Considering there's till time and he hasn't resumed work yet, we wonder if he's on a paternity break.

As per the reports, in March even Deepika Padukone is expected to get back to working. The actress will end her maternity leave and reportedly start working on the Kalki 2898 AD sequel. In the Nag Ashwin starrer, the actress plays the character of Sumathi. The first part was released this year and also featured Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan.

Coming to Don 3, last year, Farhan Akhtar announced that Ranveer Singh is the new Don. Fans of the franchise had a mixed reaction as they loved Shah Rukh Khan in the gangster avatar and were waiting for the third part for almost a decade. Along with the Lootera star, the threequel also features Kiara Advani in the lead role. As per the reports, Sobhita Dhulipala will have a special dance number in the film.

The year 2024 is great for DeepVeer fans, as they will soon see the duo together on the big screen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. Deepika Padukone has joined Shetty's cop universe as Shakti Shetty. The movie also stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff. It will hit theatres in November.
