After the Kalki 2898 AD release, the makers confirmed that the movie will have a sequel. Even at the end of the first film, it is revealed that we will get part 2. Whoever has seen the movie knows that it ends on a cliffhanger and leaves you wondering what will happen to Deepika Padukone's Sumathi in the end. However, the actress recently gave birth to her daughter and is on maternal leave. So will she be a part of the sequel?
As reported by several entertainment news portals, the movie's producers Priyanka and Swapna Dutt were asked about the sequel. The producers revealed that they have already shot at least 30-35 percent of the sequel. They also stated that Kalki 2 will have a big international release. So will Deepika Padukone return as Sumathi, the mother?
To this, the producers answered, "She will still be the mother in some part of the film." Well, this update will make the actress' fans happy for sure. Even though the actress is on a maternal leave, it looks like the makers have found ways to include her character in Kalki 2898 AD Part 2.

This year, Deepika also appeared in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The cop action drama also stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff. Meanwhile, during Diwali this year, Ranveer Singh and Deepika revealed that they've named their daughter 'Dua Padukone-Singh'.
