Citadel Honey Bunny and Stree connection: Here's How Raj and DK got on board

Citadel Honey Bunny is a Hindi spy thriller series, which stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles.

All eyes are on Citadel Honey Bunny, the Indian version or the prequel of Amazon Prime Video's American show, Citadel. The Hindi show stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles and the trailer was recently released. On the other hand, the American show features Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Richard Madden. Writer-director duo Raj and DK are the creators of the Hindi show.

Considering the amazing movies and shows Raj & DK have delivered, there's a great excitement and expectation from Citadel Honey Bunny. In an interview, the duo revealed all the work Russo Brothers saw before getting them on board. One of the works they saw of the duo is the 2018 horror comedy, Stree. They worked as writers for the movie.

Who would've thought Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree would have a connection to Citadel Honey Bunny? While talking to Indian Express, the Raj and DK revealed, "I think they had watched The Family Man season one edit; it hadn't been released yet, and they had watched Stree!" Raj also believes that the Russo brothers saw another work of theirs, which they think is Shor in the city.

Further in this entertainment news, Raj stated that Joe and Anthony Russo sampled their work, which they realised later. Prime Video also shared edits of their show The Family Man with them. "It was good that the Russo brothers told us to retain our voice and style, but we had to fit into their universe, which was the balancing act," Raj revealed.

Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Citadel Honey Bunny is all set to stream on Prime Video on November 7, 2024.
