Movie that made an actor a star
The actor we are talking about is Kabir Bedi. In the year 1988, we saw Kabir play the negative role in the movie Khoon Bhari Maang. It is cited as Rekha's one of the best Hindi movies. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, Kabir plays Sanjay Verma, a man who destroys Rekha's characters life but she returns to seek vengeance. But did you know how Kabir got that part?
Recently, on Digital Commentary, Kabir Bedi revealed that when he was offered the role, he liked it and wanted it to be very scary and dangerous and he played it that way to a great extent. "I was in America for a series with Tom Selleck and after completing the shooting, I was sitting on the seashore. Meanwhile, I got a call from Rakesh Roshan and he said that I am making a film and I want to take you as the hero, to which I said, 'Very good, but is there a strike for actors in Bollywood that you are calling me'." Rakesh convinced the actor by saying that the movie's hero later becomes the villain and only he can play this part well.
