This Bollywood actor received immense fame with his roles in films, but one case damaged his career.

Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja won hearts with his exceptional performances in films like Gangster, Life in a Metro, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and more. Despite his amazing career and the much required fame which he received in the 2000s, Shiney's life changed drastically after an incident. The actor got involved in a legal controversy and his career ended. His career game down crashing in 2009 after he was accused of raping his 19-year-old domestic help. This piece of news left everyone shocked in the country.

The allegations against Shiney got him sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by a Mumbai court in 2011. His career was damaged due to the case. Reportedly, no filmmakers were willing to work with him and his image was tarnished. In the aftermath of the controversy, Shiney disappeared from the public eye. If rumours are to be believed then the actor has moved to the Philippines. There has been a bit of confirmation about his life post-scandal. The actor retreated from the limelight and is living his life away from the industry.

Well, Shiney was arrested and taken to Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai in June 2009 and he was charged for rape and criminal intimidation under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. In October 2009, Shiney was granted bail but the case took an unexpected turn in 2019 when the victim retracted her statement and claimed that she was pressured into making the accusation.

The actor had been married to Anupam Pandey since 1997 and they were blessed with a daughter named Arshiya. After getting bail, Shiney made a comeback to Bollywood with the film Welcome Back in 2015.
