Kanguva box office collection sees a drop

When Kanguva was released in theatres, the response was mixed. Even fans had mixed reactions to the Suriya starrer. As reported by several entertainment news portals, some people complained about the background music being too loud. There was also criticism for the story and screenplay, which weren't as intriguing as expected. It looks like the first-day reviews for the film have affected the movie.

On its first day, Kanguva made a box office collection of Rs 24 crore. But its day 2 collection has dropped drastically. As per the reports, after seeing the criticism for the high decibels of the film, sound designer Resul Pookutty took to Instagram and shared a review. In his post, Resul wrote, "It is disheartening to see a review about sound in our popular films like this. Our craft and artistry caught up in the loudness war. Who is to blame?! The sound guy?! or the innumerable fixes come at the last moment to satiate all insecurities. High time our fraternity to put your foot down and say things loud and clear. No film will have a repeat value if the audience walks out with a headache."
