Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have a great fan following in India. Hence, when the duo made their Bollywood debut years ago, the response was amazing. After a long gap, the Indian audience might get to see the Pakistani stars again on the big screen and that too together. Yes, you read it right. Their movie, The Legend of Maula Jatt, is all set to release in Indian theatres soon.

The Legend of Maula Jatt will be the first Pakistani movie to hit Indian theatres after a period of over ten years. Fans are excited to see the Humsafar duo Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan on screen, as their chemistry is always winsome on screen. As reported by entertainment news portal Koimoi, director Bilal Lashari's The Legend of Maula Jatt earned over Rs 100 crore globally. It's the first Punjabi film from Pakistan to make this record. From India, only two movies have achieved the same box office feat. However, once Fawad and Mahira's film releases in India, the box office collection is only going to get better. The report reports that after its release in Punjab, the current box office collection of Rs 116.63 crores might rise up to at least Rs 125 crores worldwide. It is more than Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's Jatt & Juliet, which earned approximately Rs 107.51 crore gross.

The film is an adaptation and soft reboot of 1979 film Maula Jatt. The Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer released in Pakistan in 2022. The movie also stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi and Shafqat Cheema. It will release in India on October 2, 2024.

For Fawad Khan, it's one more thing to celebrate this year, as in July, his web series Barzakh with Sanam Saeed also released in India. In Hindi films, Fawad was last seen in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma. On the other hand, Mahira's Bollywood movie was 2017 crime thriller Raees, with Shah Rukh Khan.
