During the trailer launch of his upcoming film, The Sabarmati Report, Vikrant spoke his heart out about receiving death threats. He said, 'I have been getting threats. However, I’m not looking to draw attention to it. It’s something I’m handling, and as a team, we are collectively addressing it'. Vikrant seems to not get affected by the threats as he is busy focusing on his work. He said, 'We are artists, and our job is to tell stories. This film is grounded in facts. Unfortunately, you haven’t seen the film yet, so it’s important not to jump to conclusions that it focuses on just one side of the story', after questions about the Gujarat riots in relation to his upcoming film were asked to Vikrant.

Later, the actor was asked why he decided to be part of the film and producer Ektaa decided to answer the question. She said, 'This isn’t just one facet; it’s the first facet. We are focusing on the genesis of this particular aspect without disregarding the others. Unfortunately, this key element—how it all began—hasn’t been covered enough in mainstream narratives'. Ektaa later spoke if The Sabarmati Report could fuel communal tensions and said, 'I am a Hindu, but being a Hindu means you are secular. I will never make a statement about any religion because I am a Hindu, and I deeply respect all religions.'
