Baby John Box Office Collection Day 1: Varun Dhawan's film has a slow start, makes less than Mufasa and Pushpa 2 on Christmas

The collaboration between Varun, Atlee and Kalees has been the most awaited one and the film finally got released. However, many were disappointed with the film's story. But, many fans were happy to see Varun in a different avatar. He did an amazing job as an actor in the film.
The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and others. The first day for the film was a bit slow. After the mixed reviews, it was being predicted that the movie would not do well on the first day. The predictions came true. The film witnessed a slow start at the box office.

It is the official remake of Tamil film Theri starring Thalapathy Vijay. Theri had also released during Christmas and Varun Dhawan's Baby John's opening number is lower than Theri as well. According to Sacnilk, early estimates reveal Baby John has collected Rs 12.50 Crore on the first day.
However, as per India Today, Theri had collected Rs 13.1 crore in 2016. Theri was the biggest opening for Thalapathy Vijay. Baby John may continue well in the upcoming days. However, it has to face tough competition with the recently released movies, Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King.
Both these movies are dominating the box office. Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is breaking the box office records and ruling hearts. As per Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 earned more than Baby John on Christmas. Pushpa 2 collected Rs 19.75 crore yesterday (Christmas).
Mufasa: The Lion King has also done an amazing job on Christmas. The film collected Rs 14.25 Cr in India. The movie was dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu.
