Jimmy Hurdstrom Left ‘Yellowstone’ for Texas. ‘Marshals’ Is Pulling Him Back West Again

Another “Yellowstone” alum is riding into “Marshals.” Jefferson White will recur as Jimmy Hurdstrom in the second season of CBS’s spinoff drama, reuniting him with Luke Grimes, who leads the series as former Navy SEAL Kayce Dutton.

Jimmy’s “Yellowstone” arc wrapped with John Dutton giving him permission to return permanently to Texas and the 6666 Ranch, where he settled into life as a cowboy and horse trainer. CBS hasn’t revealed how he’ll factor into Kayce’s new story, which follows the ex-SEAL as he joins a U.S. Marshals unit in Montana.

“Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us,” White said in a statement. He added that he’s “thrilled to dive into the world of ‘Marshals’ and continue exploring the American West.”

White isn’t the only familiar face making the jump. Returning “Yellowstone” players include Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo. The wider ensemble features Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos and Tatanka Means.

The casting news comes on the heels of a quick vote of confidence from the network: CBS renewed “Marshals” for Season 2 less than two weeks after its earlier 2026 premiere. Season 2 is set to air Oct. 4 on CBS and stream the following day on Paramount+.
