The Guy Who Threw a Lemon at Liam on ‘Next Gen NYC’ Is Literally Spike Lee’s Son

If you blinked during the Season 2 finale of “Next Gen NYC,” you missed the moment the whole internet is now replaying. Mid-conversation, Jackson Lee lobbed a lemon straight at Liam Obergfoll’s head while Liam was talking to Ariana Biermann. It accidentally hit Liam in the eye, turning what might have been a quick joke into a bigger ordeal.
Up to that point, Jackson had appeared only a handful of times, mostly in scenes with Liam and their mutual friend Kendall White. The lemon changed everything. Fans immediately started calling for him to be made a full-time cast member — and a lot of them were only just piecing together who his father is.
For the record: Jackson is Spike Lee’s son. Once viewers made the connection, the reactions poured in.
“Wait because if this is really Spike Lee son, why is he letting that nobody even talk to him like that..? Why was he not main cast… I’m going to get annoyed,” one person wrote on X.

Another tied the moment straight back to his father’s most famous film: “Jackson was taught to Do the right thing,” tagging Spike Lee.
“I watched the entire season not realizing Jackson was Spike Lee’s son until I read some comments,” someone wrote on Threads.
Adding him to the main cast wouldn’t exactly be a stretch for a show already built around the kids of famous people. Brooke Shields’ daughter Rowen Henchy joined in Season 2, after all.
